We are now officially clients of Sunrise and are on the great Dossier chase... The women were lovely at Sunrise, and we are very happy with our move. (We were very happy with Choices as well... but are switching for the Kenya program.) We are going to collectively work together to try and get the adoption processed before Kenyan elections. Nothing like reaching for the moon and the stars! Good to have goals I guess, no matter how unobtainable they seem!
Some pictures to capture this day...
Mister's idea of candy! Yum...

Hi there -
I just read the article that you posted on the Adoption Magazine website and wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed reading it. You're a terrific writer, and I loved the content as well.
My husband and I just adopted siblings from Ethiopia (tomorrow will be four weeks that we've been home), after a long journey in this direction. I wish you well as you make plans, and dream of the child(ren) that will join your family.
BLessings,
Ruth
PS. you're welcome to check out my blog if you'd like, but certainly no obligation!

Hi, I also just read your article on adoption magazine. My husband and I have always wanted to adopt internationally, and are investigating countries right now. I was excited to see you are adopting from Kenya, and look forward to following your adventures. What does the process/time line look like? There wasn't much info on Sunrise's website.
Thank you Ruth - I left you a message over on your blog.
Jacquie - We will be the first family to adopt from Kenya with Sunrise... so this is relatively new for them. I do have some information available in a few older posts (in June) and will be posting updated information as soon as I get some last details.
The Adoption Society (KKPI) that Sunrise partners with in Kenya is estimating a timeline of 4-6 months give or take from the time of dossier submission to referral. Their recent experiences indicates that the time in country is 8-9 months. 3 months fostering, approx. 3 months for the court process and then visa wait.
